IVA at 4%, 10%, and 21%
Spain applies a 4% super-reduced IVA rate to staples like bread, milk, eggs, fruit, and vegetables, 10% to most other food, and 21% to non-food items. Prices are IVA-inclusive and the ticket summarizes the tax by rate, with the taxable base for each.
Factura completa on request
A factura simplificada is not enough for a business to deduct IVA. Companies must ask Lidl for a full factura with their own NIF and address and the IVA shown separately - which is why Spanish expense policies often reject bare supermarket tickets.
