What Is on a Real Auchan Receipt?
The French ticket de caisse changed significantly in 2023, and Auchan receipts reflect both the new rules and the chain's Waaoh loyalty program. These are the details a credible replacement copy should match.
Printed only on request since August 2023
Under France's loi AGEC, receipts stopped printing automatically on August 1, 2023. At Auchan the cashier asks whether you want the ticket - otherwise you can opt for the dematerialized e-ticket stored in your Auchan customer account.
TVA table at 5.5% and 20%
French receipts close with a TVA summary splitting the total by rate: 5.5% on most food staples, 20% standard on household goods, alcohol, and non-food items, plus 10% on certain prepared foods. Each item line carries a code tying it to its rate.
Carte Waaoh cagnotte lines
Scanning the Waaoh loyalty card links the sale to the account, and the receipt reports the euros credited to the cagnotte - Auchan's cashback pot - along with any cagnotte amount spent as a payment line.
Some products still get a mandatory ticket
The AGEC rules keep an obligation to provide a receipt for goods covered by legal guarantees - household appliances, electronics, phones, furniture, and toys - so an Auchan hypermarket trip with a kettle in the cart still produces a proof-of-purchase document.
