Re-turn deposit lines on bottles and cans
Since February 2024, drinks containers carrying the Re-turn logo add a 15c or 25c deposit as a separate line, refunded when the container is returned to a reverse vending machine - a scheme with no UK equivalent on Tesco receipts.
Clubcard points, but not on DRS deposits
Clubcard points collect on qualifying purchases in Ireland just as in the UK, but the Re-turn deposit fee itself is treated as a non-qualifying product and earns no Clubcard points.
Euro currency and VAT number
All totals print in euros, and the receipt carries Tesco Ireland's VAT registration number - the detail a customer service desk needs to issue a full VAT invoice for expense or business claims.
Missed points claimable within 14 days
