What to include on a petrol bill
Enter only details from the real fuel purchase. The fields differ by market, so this page keeps Indian petrol-bill intent separate from the US gas-receipt page.
Fuel outlet and RO details
Add the petrol pump name, address, phone number and retail-outlet or station code when available.
Litres and price per litre
Record the product, quantity in litres and rate per litre so the fuel amount can be checked against the total.
Vehicle and transaction references
Use the confirmed vehicle number, nozzle or pump number, invoice number, FCC reference and date and time from the purchase.
Payment details
Add cash, card or UPI as applicable. For cards, keep only non-sensitive details such as the last four digits and approval reference.
India fuel-tax treatment
Petrol and diesel remain outside GST. Do not add CGST or SGST to the fuel line itself; taxable shop or service items should be shown separately when relevant.
UK and Australia records
For a UK VAT record, include the supplier VAT number and VAT information from the original invoice. Australian records usually use litres, AUD and GST-aware business details where applicable.
