What Is on a Real Coles Express Receipt?
Coles Express forecourts sell Shell fuel and follow Australian tax invoice conventions, so the GST line, ABN, and Flybuys details are what make a receipt look genuine. Sites have been rebranding to Reddy Express under Viva Energy since 2023, but the receipt structure is the same.

The slip opens with the site name and address plus the operator's ABN - an Australian tax invoice requirement - followed by the date, time, and transaction number.
Shell fuel grade in litres and cents
Fuel prints as the Shell grade (Unleaded 91, Premium 95/98, V-Power, or Diesel), litres dispensed, the price per litre shown in cents, and the pump number, with the line total in Australian dollars.
GST as 1/11th of the total
Australian pump prices are GST-inclusive, and the totals section shows the GST component, which is one-eleventh of the GST-inclusive price. For business claims, the ATO accepts a standard receipt up to A$82.50 - above that a tax invoice with the ABN is required.
Flybuys points or 4c per litre docket
Flybuys members choose between 4c off per litre or 8 points per litre on fuel, and the receipt records the scan and any discount. Digital fuel dockets earned by spending $30 or more at Coles are delivered through the Flybuys app and redeem as a per-litre deduction line.
Flybuys redemptions change the GST math
Where Flybuys points are redeemed as payment, the receipt is not a valid tax invoice because the GST shown may not be correct - Coles and Reddy Express provide a GST calculator so customers can work out the claimable amount for those transactions.
Payment block and barcode
The slip ends with the payment method - card payments show masked digits, and Shell Card fleet purchases reference the card account - plus a barcode with printed digits used for reprints and returns.
