What Is on a Real PAK'nSAVE Receipt?

PAK'nSAVE is Foodstuffs' no-frills, lowest-price banner, and its dockets are built around that positioning - no loyalty scheme, and every discount is shown as a straight price cut. These are the details that make a PAK'nSAVE-style receipt read as authentic.

No loyalty program by design

Unlike New World and Four Square, PAK'nSAVE runs no Club+ or Clubcard points scheme - its receipts never show a loyalty points line, consistent with the banner's 'everyday low prices instead of rewards' positioning within Foodstuffs.

GST at 15%, included in prices

New Zealand prices are GST-inclusive, so item lines show the shelf price and the docket notes that GST of 15% is included in the total. For business claims, IRD's taxable supply information rules apply, and larger purchases need the seller's GST number on the record.

Plastic bag charge line

Since New Zealand's single-use plastic bag ban, reusable or paper bags purchased at checkout print as a separate line item at the till - a small but distinctive charge that appears on PAK'nSAVE dockets alongside the grocery items.

Owner-operator entity in the header

Each PAK'nSAVE store is independently owned and operated under the Foodstuffs North Island or South Island cooperative, so the receipt header shows the local owner's company details rather than a single national chain entity.

Cash rounding and EFTPOS details

Cash transactions round to the nearest 10 cents since 1c, 2c, and 5c coins were withdrawn, printing as a rounding line; EFTPOS is the default card payment and shows a terminal section with the masked card number and account type.

Lane, operator, and docket number

PAK'nSAVE dockets print the checkout lane number, operator name or ID, docket number, and date and time, plus the store's local phone number - standard Foodstuffs receipt formatting shared with New World and Four Square.

Get Your Original PAK'nSAVE Receipt First

PAK'nSAVE purchases are not tied to a loyalty account, so the paper docket is usually the only direct record - start with the specific store, since each is independently owned and the operator can sometimes look up or reprint a recent transaction from the till. Bank or EFTPOS statements confirm card payments when the docket is gone. Use this template when the original is unavailable - a lost paper docket, a faded print, or a cash purchase with no card trail.
